July 8th
The Bar Exam - My thoughts til this day
Well I've never been much for studying in law school...and some how graduated in the top 10% of my class, but I felt that I should at least make a good faith effort to study as much as I could for the Indiana Bar Exam. I planned to, and kind of slacked off in June... I mean I made it to the BarBri Review Sessions (for the msot part), but really slacked off, played some golf, went out to the bars multipe times a week, hung out w/ friends, etc. ... I probably did about 140 practice MC questions for the MBE over the May/June months, and noticed that my scores weren't so hot. However I wasn't that worried, because I knew when July hit I planned on working a little bit harder.
Well one of the last things we did in June as part of the bar review was a Simulated Practice Exam for the MBE. I somehow scored a 140+ after factoring in the expected adjustments...this could have been a bad moment, in my slacker life...however I was determined to not let it be. I mean 140+, thats enough to pass the MBE portion of the Bar Exam in Indiana (and most other states) right now.....
Since July 2nd, my studying has picked up.. For the first time in my life, I decided to create use flashcards. Since then, I have memorized my outlines for Corporations/Agency/Partnership/Income Tax/Estate and Gift Tax/Indiana Con Law/Admin Law/ Family Law/ Secured Transactions. Oh and I've had a couple of games of golf, worked a bit, and drank a couple beers in that time... Lets hope to keep it up in the upcoming weeks...Please don't burn out brain..I know you are not used to all of this work.
